Indicator: Military expenditure (current USD) - Ranking 2024

Description	The Military Spending USD, in Current Prices (Converted at the Exchange Rate for the Given Year) indicator measures a country's military expenditure expressed in current U.S. dollars, with the expenditure converted from the national currency using the exchange rate applicable in the year concerned. The indicator therefore represents the nominal monetary value of military spending in U.S. dollar terms for a specific year. Because it is expressed in current prices, the measure is not adjusted for inflation and should be distinguished from constant-price or real military expenditure indicators.
A cosa serve	The indicator is used to analyse the level and evolution of military expenditure in nominal monetary terms and to support international comparisons of defense spending.
