| Description | The Civil Society Participation Index measures the robustness of civil society in a country. It assesses the extent to which citizens are actively involved in civil society organizations (CSOs) and whether those organizations are routinely consulted by policymakers. It also considers gender inclusion and the internal democratic practices of political parties, such as decentralized candidate nomination. A strong score indicates an autonomous and active civil society where citizens freely engage in civic and political life through a diverse range of organizations. |
